WHAT WE KNOW MATTERS
At our 2019 inaugural retreat, each girl was able to choose 3 breakout sessions from the following: Body Image & Self Confidence, De-Stress Yoga, Mental Health, Title IX/Sexual Harassment, Sexuality, What to Expect in College, Defend Yourself/Street Smarts a hands on lesson with a Black-Belt Instructors and a Chill/Comfort room as a way to relax and de-stress. At the end of the day, the girls were empowered & connected to help each other as Girls Spark Ambassadors.

CHECKING OUR EMOTIONS TO TACKLE THE DAY AT HAND
Emotions are a part of life and how you handle them and yourself can have a significant impact on your life. Join me as we talk about what it means to be "emotionally Intelligent" as a young woman in the world today. Through self reflection and self awareness will will explore how to increase your "EQ" score and develop strategies to put yourself in the right emotional state of mind to achieve success for the situation at hand.PLAY VIDEO
FIND FREEDOM IN YOUR BODY THROUGH YOGA
This breakout session is a yoga session to Tune into your Body. We will ask ourselves—Are you your own worst critic? Do You feel like you are not good enough? We will talk about some strategies of letting go so that we can continue to evolve. It will be a positive, non-judgmental space to explore these topics and sharing is not required!PLAY VIDEO

DEFEND YOURSELF: STREET SMARTS & COMMON SENSE
Us young women have to stick up for each other, lookout for each other, and take action when needed. In this hands on breakout learn how to defend yourself from common dangerous situations, and gain some useful street smarts.PLAY VIDEO
TENSION & TRAUMA RELEASE: A DE-STRESSING CLASS
Exercise is a revolutionary body-based (somatic) technique that shakes off deep muscular patterns of stress, chronic tension, and trauma to calm the nervous system, building resiliency so you can easily return your body back to a state of balance even in the face of great stress. Make sure your bring your yoga matt for this interactive breakout!
